We feel so fortunate to have crossed paths with Sandy so that Mr. Red could come into our lives from the Harvest litter! We named him Neo, like neo-classical, “a new beginning” and from the cool main character from the Matrix movie. As it turns out, the name fits Neo perfectly.  He is handsome, extremely sweet, smart, and quite a unique character. He brings us enormous happiness every day and whatever we are doing, Neo is close by. We love his company so very much! Sandy’s understanding as a breeder is deeply appreciated. Neo came to us at 8-weeks old having had rich sensory and tactile experiences thanks to Sandy’s upbringing (and her very capable grandchildren!). Sandy has always been attentive to us human parents, answering questions and helping with details. Maybe it sounds crazy, but it was SO worth finding Anderson Goldens in northern California to bring Neo to our home in Massachusetts. Lucky us. Neo is our everything.

Prior to meeting Sandy at Anderson Goldens, we had recently lost our first English Golden girl. Maisy was 12 and the light of our lives. We were referred to Sandy by our first English Golden breeder. Upon meeting Sandy, we knew exactly why we were sent her way. Sandy is kind and gentle just like her dogs. We weren’t sure if we were emotionally ready for a new pup so soon after losing Maisy. We got on Sandy’s waiting list and decided to see if one of her puppies was meant for us. Our future new pup had some pretty big paws to fill.

We loved how Sandy asked us questions about our family and home life. She then answered all of our questions. It was important for us to find a breeder that understood early puppy socialization, had their puppies at home, picked the right puppy for us and bred for temperament. We were also interested only in a breeder that had limited litters each year. We were willing to wait for just the right pup. Sandy exceeded all of our expectations. Anderson Goldens mama dogs live in their home. They are calm, smart, beautiful and very much members of their family. We spent a lot of time with Sandy and her puppies prior to taking our sweet little gem home. The puppies are cared for as if they were staying with Sandy and her family for life. Sandy knows what puppies need during their first 8 weeks and more. Sandy got to know us and picked the perfect puppy for our family. Her grandchildren have learned Sandy’s gentle ways and helped prepare our girl for family life.

We named our girl Pearl, she is a priceless gem whom is calm, easy to train, stunning and embodies every golden characteristic we love. Sandy continues to support our family as we navigate all things golden retriever puppy/dog. We are beyond grateful for having met Sandy, her family and her amazing goldens. We hope to have another Anderson Golden join our family in the future.
